David Quigley, Artistic Director, BIPA

"I am delighted to introduce to you the website for BIPA 2008. After the immense success of BIPA 2007, I can assure you that the course promises to be an enjoyable experience for all participants, set in one of Europe’s most artistic environments. I hope that you can join us and look forward to welcoming you!"

The fourth Birmingham International Piano Academy (BIPA) will take place from Sunday 20 – Sunday 27 July 2008, hosted by Birmingham Conservatoire, one of Britain’s leading music colleges, and in association with Yamaha, the Musicians Benevolent Fund (MBF), and the European Summer University, Birmingham.

BIPA will provide a unique opportunity for gifted pianists of any age or nationality to receive high quality and intensive tuition within a stimulating but relaxed environment. Students will benefit from the Conservatoire’s excellent facilities including two concert halls, teaching studios with high quality grand pianos, and over fifty practice studios.

Joining BIPA’s teaching staff will be our distinguished visitors, internationally acclaimed pianists Peter Donohoe, Piers Lane and John Lill.

"Founded in 1886 Birmingham Conservatoire has enjoyed a strong reputation as an international centre of excellence for piano studies and we are delighted to be supporting and hosting the fourth BIPA in July 2008."
